TALBOT RETURNS TO SPA 24 HOUR

Liam-TalbotBrisbane driver Liam Talbot will be continuing his assault on the Blancpain Endurance Series at the Total 24 Hours of Spa at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. Talbot will be joining co-drivers Stephen Earle and Marco Zanuttini in the Kessel Racing Ferrari 458 GT3. Returning to Spa-Francorchamps to take on the challenging race for a second time, Talbot is looking to build on his experience with the Swiss based Ferrari team.

In 2014, Talbot debuted with Kessel Racing at the 24 Hours of Spa with good friend and team mate Marcus Mahy. Mahy was involved in a horrific crash at the 2014 event where he was airlifted from the track.

With Mahy well on the road to recovery and after having spent significant time over recent months providing Talbot with race strategy, the team is looking to make this a very different race in 2015.

Team comments:

-Liam Talbot (Team Driver LTR) – Our time with Kessel Racing continues to get better. As I spend more time behind the wheel I’m slowly unlocking the secrets to help me maximize the potential of the Ferrari. I’m prepared for whatever the race throws up at us this year.

-Following a successful test day at Spa-Francorchamps in the 458, I’m confident going in to the race, however with a grid of over 60 cars, there’s going to be some heavy traffic to contend with over the 24 hours.

– In addition to the on track time, I’ve been putting serious hours on the Simworx Simulator working on my muscle memory for the big race.

-With everything that happened at the 2014 event, this is our chance to bring it back together and focus on a strong result for the team.

-David Hardman (Team Director LTR) – The Spa 24 Hours to us still feels like unfinished business. We have been preparing Liam through both his on track work, careful data analysis and significant increase in his physical training load all in preparation for this event. We want to make this one count for team LTR and our partners at Kessel Racing.
